Fraternity and sorority recruitment varies depending on the organization and its council. The information below is general, but should you give you a good idea about the recruitment process for each group.

Fraternity Recruitment

Interfraternity Council (IFC)

Unified Greek Council (UGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (Divine Nine)

  • Recruitment is year-long, but the new member intake process may happen starting in the first weeks of Fall term, first weeks of Winter term, or the first week of Spring term. This new membership timeline depends on the organization as well as how many students are interested in joining. Typically, UGC and Independent Greeks have several students interested in joining go through a pledging process for a varying amount of weeks. Once the pledging process is over, students become members - known as "crossing" into the fraternity.

Sorority Recruitment

Panhellenic Council (PHC)

  • Fall Formal Recruitment is a process through which you will get a chance to meet members of all eleven National Panhellenic Conference chapters and one associate member chapter at Oregon State University, take tours of some of the chapter houses, and find the chapter which you think best fits you and which girls you fit in best with! It is an exciting and fun process and a great way to find out more about sorority life!
