What is Priority Registrations for START?

Priority registration for START takes place during the two weeks prior to open registration (First Monday in May) for summer START sessions. Priority registration for START orientation is an opportunity to for students to sign up for a summer START session before other students.

o Student has indicated veteran status via their admission application
o Student has initiated veteran educational benefits with OtR veteran certifying officials (this may be dependent students as well as veterans).

How do students get signed up?

o Review the New Student Programs and Family Outreach website and determine whether they need to attend a first year student orientation or a transfer orientation (must have completed 36 transferable quarter credits) and which date they would like to attend.  Student Veterans may request to attend a transfer orientation even if they are going to be attending college for the first time, due to their time spent in the military many of the requirements focused on for the first year students may not apply.
o Call New Student Programs and Family Outreach at 541-737-7627 between the hours of 8am and 5pm PST, Monday through Friday. Be prepared to provide your name, OSU ID number, and START Orientation session that you would like to attend.
