HSRC is here to help! There are several barriers that keep us from eating healthy nourishing and tasty meals, money and time being some.  Acquiring basic kitchen skills is the key to saving on both time and money. Cooking classes can help make you more conscious and skilled, thus enabling you to conjure deliciousness in the kitchen at any time regardless of the budget!

FREE Cooking Classes @ HSRC!

These classes will be focused on empowering you with basic cooking skills and making meal preparation quick, easy, inexpensive, healthy and fun! Recipes will be provided for each of the meals being prepared. At the end of the classes we will have a conversation session and discuss various topic related to Food insecurity and eating healthy on a budget. You may sign up for one or all four of them (see below for more details). *Recipes include, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

Rice Every Which Way | April 17 | 5-7pm
  • Rice is an amazing staple because it is so versatile and can be made into different meals using very few ingredients. Learn how to play around with rice and make healthy and delicious meals.


Ramen Revamped | May 3 | 5-7pm 
  • As college students, noodles are a staple; they are quick, easy and inexpensive. Learn how to play around with simple recipes to make your noodles healthier and tastier. This class will also include a simple healthy dessert recipe.


Knead Bread  | May 15 | 5-7pm
  • Bread baking is an amazing skill however it often seems intimidating. This class will be focused on stove top breads which can often be a cheaper and faster alternative. Learn interesting and fun skills that will take your baking to the next level.


Cheap and Gourmet | May 31 | 5-7pm
  • Want to impress your friends with a fancy delicious home cooked dinner? Then this is the class for you. Learn how to play around with inexpensive ingredients and make amazing food.
