There is always something going on at OSU-special lectures, concerts, cultural events, plays, art exhibits, PAC-12 sports, and festivals all happen on a weekly or monthly basis. Parents and family members are welcome to join their students at any number of events throughout the year. For a full list of daily events check out the OSU Calendar and Student Events and Activities website. In addition be sure to pay special attention to the following events that draw a number of parents and family members to campus each year.

Parent and Family Weekends

Many family members visit their student during Dads and Family weekend in the fall and/or Moms and Family weekend in the spring. These weekends feature many events ranging from football games, fashion shows, rafting trips, comedy shows, arts and crafts fairs, and more.

This festive, symbolic ceremony officially welcomes the entire class incoming class of new students to the OSU community. Parents and family members are also welcome to attend. Convocation begins with the New Student Walk which winds students from the MU Quad to Gill Colesium, a similar walk to the one they will take at Commencement. Convocation occurs one to a few days before fall term classes begin.

OSU's graduation ceremony grants and congratulates over 3,000 new graduates with bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees each spring. Approximately 25,000 parents and loved ones visit the Corvallis campus every year for this event. Visitors are encouraged to make travel plans well in advance of Commencement and check the site several times for timely updates about the event.
