We do not offer fee waivers on our non-degree and post-baccalaureate applications.

  • Oregon State recognizes the members of the U.S. Armed Forces and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces by exempting them from paying the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD). In order to be eligible for the ATD exemption, current military members serving on active duty need to submit a copy their most recent military orders, Enlisted Records Brief (ERB), or Officer Records Brief (ORB). Veterans need to submit a copy of their DD-214. Please fax them to 541-737-2482 or email osuadmit@oregonstate.edu
Step Two Get started using your VA educational Benefits
  • If you are a Servicemember or a Veteran and are needing to apply for your Department of Veteran Affairs(VA) educational benefits you need to go to VETS.GOV to complete your application.

Step Three Apply for Financial Aid

Step Four Meet with Academic Advisor within your major or program of study.

Degree Partnership Program students

  • Using benefits to cover courses taken simultaneously at other institutions as a Degree Partner student or other status: If you are receiving benefits through OSU, we are your parent school. The other institution needs approval from the Veteran Certifying Official at OSU allowing them to certify your courses at their institution.
  • Contact your OSU advisor to get approval for the courses you plan to take in the following term.
  • Your advisor can e-mail his or her approval to the Veteran Certifying Official.
  • The email must include a statement that courses being taken apply to a degree program offered at OSU. The statement must include the course number and name of the class.
  • The Veteran Certifying Official will send a "Parent School" Letter of approval to your other institution.
  • The other institution will then be able to certify you to the VA for the specified courses.
  • The Veteran Certifying Official will then issue enrollment certification documents to the appropriate VA Regional office in order to monitor the student's satisfactory academic progress.
Step Five Utilize your VA Education Benefits

Before making a potentially irrevocable decision on which benefit to use, consult with your Veteran Certifying Official or the Campus Veteran Resource Coordinator first.
