Veteran Community Orientation is open to all active duty / veteran / eligible family member students enrolled for their first year at OSU. Navigating the transition to a new university can be a particularly exciting and challenging experience. The Veterans’ Orientation is designed to help facilitate your transition by improving your knowledge of available VA benefits and services, guiding you through pertinent policies, procedures, and resources, assisting you in identifying key skills and strategies for success, and encouraging community and student engagement.

Course Objectives:

• Develop an understanding of OSU Mil/Vet benefits and service.
• Enhance knowledge of VA educational benefits and how they apply.
• Provide an opportunity to explore new strategies that will better prepare them for academic success.
• Set the conditions for Military / Veteran Community connection and involvement.

Session 1 - 28 June 2018

Continental Breakfast and lunch are provided during the day. 

Pizza feed/Social/Bowling/Billiards immediately following in the Memorial Union Bowling Center

Session 2 - 30 August 2018 

Continental Breakfast and lunch are provided during the day.

Pizza feed/Social/Bowling/Billiards in the Memorial Union Bowling Center the evening prior - 29 AUGUST, 1630-1930  


If you are an incoming student you may opt-in for either of these two dates, you do not have to be attending a START Program adjacent to these dates.
