Created from students, Dr. Sarah E. Cunningham and Dana M. Johnson started our pantry as a graduate project. Their goal was to help connect students with needed resources, on campus. Thanks to our partnership with the Linn-Benton Food Share and generous support to our OSU Foundation account, we are able to offer grocery support weekly. Students and community members are able to select the food they would like to bring home.
The BNC Food Pantry is located at 1030 SW Madison Ave, Champinefu Lodge. Street parking is available on Madison Avenue, 11th street, and other neighboring city streets. The parking lot immediately east of Champinefu also has parking available, including multiple short-term spots.
Any person who meets income qualifications can seek support from the OSU Food Pantry as often as needed.
The BNC pantry hours are every Wednesday from 8:30am-2:30pm. The BNC will be closed on University Holidays but will have service hours during breaks.
Healthy Beaver Bags are available every Friday from 12 to 2:30pm (or while supplies last) during the term including finals weeks. The BNC will be closed on University Holidays but will have service hours during breaks.
We understand that sometimes people can't make it to our usual food pantry distribution hours due to illness, safety concerns and/or other reasons. If you are coming to the BNC to pick up food for someone else, please ask that person to complete an authorized representative form. The form doesn’t need to be printed out. People can simply email the information to [email protected]. It is also fine to print out and bring the completed form the first time you come pick up food for another person. If you come to pick up food for someone else, please tell us at sign in: “I am picking up food for __________. They sent in a form.”
Make sure you are prepared to tell staff when you come to get food if there are are any allergies or dietary restrictions we need to know about.
Our pantry provides are a mix of shelf stable goods (rice, pasta, canned goods, soups), some frozen proteins, dairy and limited fresh produce.
Staff can make boxes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.
Please come in through the front or back of our center, take a number, and sign in.
