What guidance is OSU giving to fraternities and sororities regarding COVID-19? updated July 19, 2021
  • Planning for Fall Term recruitment and membership activities is underway, and our community will welcome new members in Fall 2021. Student leaders from the governing councils are currently outlining plans based closely on OSU’s guidance. Currently all councils have plans for in-person or hybrid recruitment events, although some will offer virtual event options. For more information on joining opportunities and plans, please reach out to council leadership directly.

  • Each housed fraternity and sorority is privately owned and operated and the CFSL is encouraging their compliance with Benton County Health Department guidance, Corvallis Fire Department guidelines, the governor’s executive orders and other requirements that may apply to them.

  • The fraternity/sorority community collectively is prioritizing adherence to best public health practices in fall planning. Fraternities/sororities are recognized student organizations and will be required to comply with applicable expectations provided by OSU for student organizations. Accountability for following OSU policies will align with the process outlined in OSU’s Code of Student Conduct.

  • Oregon State University plans to implement a COVID-19 vaccination requirement beginning Fall Term 2021 for students who participate in-person in university activities. The CFSL and the governing councils encourage students to confirm their vaccination status or claim an exemption by September 15, 2021.
