Explore the OSU Bookstore
  1. Log in to myOSU
  2. Click on the Student tab near the upper center of the page.
  3. Click on My Textbooks at the far left under My Student Stuff.
  4. Select your term.
  5. When redirected to the OSU Beaver Store, click the big green button in the pop-up box that says Begin Price Comparison.
  6. Compare Prices! Scroll all the way down, and click the gray View More Offers button if it shows up.
  7. Make sure to check the New, Used, Rental, and Digital tabs (at the top, to the right of the options “From the Web”)
Explore the OSU Valley Library

Physical Books: 

  1. Check to see if your textbook is in the Library’s Course Reserves by going to http://osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/reserves
  2. In the drop-down menu that says "OSU Course Reserves"
  3. These books are usually available for a 3 hour loan period  

Online Books:

Check Available OSU Open Textbooks 
  1.  Open Oregon State is working closely with OSU faculty members to make college more affordable through the use of free, open textbooks that can be accessed online. There are many open textbooks authored by Oregon State faculty which are currently in use, with dozens more currently in production. 

Additional Resources
  1. Search online using the textbook’s title or ISBN.
  2. Remember that literary and other classics are often available for free online, at websites such as Gutenberg.org, openlibrary.org, read.gov, and many others.
  3. Buy used books early to get the best prices.
  4. Make friends with your classmates, and arrange to share a book. Plus…you’ll have yourself a study buddy!
  5. Ask professors if they have copies
  6. Ask students who have taken the course if they still have their textbooks from the course
