In order to be eligible for the ATD exemption, current military members serving on active duty need to submit a copy their most recent military orders, Enlisted Records Brief (ERB), or Officer Records Brief (ORB). OSU Institutional Tuition Remission Programs

During the START orientation program, that you are required to attend prior to taking classes on campus, you will meet with your Academic Advisor for the first time.  It is during that meeting that you will be given your PIN and be allowed to register for your classes.

To register for START you may go to New Student Programs

As a veteran you are eligible to sign up for the one day Transfer Start even though you may be a First Year student.

If you will be unable to attend a START prior to the start of classes, you may contact the Veteran Certifying Officials to request approval to access a online option.

Are you currently serving in the military on active duty or in a reserve component, a veteran, or a family member using benefits?  There are several programs that can provide you In-State Tuition rates or possibly even In-State Residency.

The Veteran Certifying Officials can assist you in reviewing your options and deciding if you qualify for one of the programs.

 Degree Partnership Program students

Using benefits to cover courses taken simultaneously at other institutions as a Degree Partner student or other status:

  • If you are receiving benefits through OSU, we are your parent school.
  • The other institution needs approval from the Veteran Certifying Official at OSU allowing them to certify your courses at their institution.

Fill out a Parent School Letter and contact your OSU advisor to get approval for the courses you plan to take in the following term.

Your advisor can e-mail his or her approval to the Veteran Certifying Official.

The Veteran Certifying Official will send the approved Parent School Letter to your other institution.

The other institution will then be able to certify you to the VA for the specified courses.
