Dean of Students Units

The Office of the Dean of Students is composed of many units across the university and is dedicated to providing educational and developmental opportunities that help students make informed decisions that support their success at Oregon State University. 

ASOSU Student Government 

ASOSU Student Government represents all students at Oregon State University through a student government structure committed to academic excellence and holistic student development. The unit supports the intellectual, social, cultural, and physical well‑being of the student community and enables students to express their collective interests as members of the university through democratic representation.

Basic Needs Center

The Basic Needs Center provides a wide range of resources designed to support students facing financial, academic, or personal challenges. Staff assist students in accessing solutions related to technology and textbooks, housing and rent insecurity, food assistance, and unexpected financial difficulties.

Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life

The Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life works to empower the OSU Greek community in achieving individual and organizational excellence. The center provides advocacy, multicultural development support, advising for governing councils and chapters, and leadership programs that foster community growth.

Disability Access Services

Disability Access Services ensures equitable access to university programs and services for students with disabilities through accommodations, education, consultation, and advocacy. DAS serves students on the Corvallis campus, online, and at OSU‑Cascades.

Military & Veteran Resources

The Holcomb Center for Military & Veteran Resources supports all members of the military‑connected community in navigating higher education. The center helps students understand university processes, access benefits and services, and connect with peers who share similar experiences and challenges, supporting their success in completing their educational mission.

Office of Advocacy

The Office of Advocacy supports students with university‑related matters and issues. The staff assist students in understanding and navigating university policies and processes and offers students options, guidance, and support based on the student’s desired course of action.

OSU Assist

OSU Assist is a multidisciplinary mobile crisis response team that provides compassionate, on‑site support and coordinated services for students experiencing mental health challenges or other forms of distress.

SafeRide

SafeRide is a night-time transportation service that is dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and judgment-free rider experience. The service is an OSU community-driven alternative to ride shares, providing free rides to Corvallis students ensuring that Beavers get home safe.  

Student Care

Student Care supports students facing unexpected or difficult circumstances—including personal crises, illness, hospitalization, bereavement, and mental health concerns. The unit helps students understand university policies, problem‑solve within the OSU community, and access appropriate referrals for personal needs or emergencies.

Student Legal Services

Student Legal Services provides free legal advice to OSU Corvallis students when the other party to the dispute does not pertain to the University. The attorneys provide legal consultation and limited scope representation in a variety of area of practice include landlord-tenant, criminal, civil, immigration, and more.

Student Community Standards

Student Community Standards partners with students, faculty, and staff to advance OSU's community standards in all living, learning, and work environments. We foster fair, equitable, and student-centered learning opportunities that prepare students to positively impact their communities and the world.
