I grew up in the Los Angeles area of Southern California. I credit my parents' professions, teaching, and criminal justice, for my academic interests and career path. I achieved a B.A. in Public Administration, with a Paralegal Certificate from California State University, Chico, and an M.A in Counseling and Educational Psychology, with an emphasis in College Student Development from the University of Nevada, Reno
I began my career in Student Affairs while at CSU, Chico, when I accepted the Program Coordinator position with CSU, Chico University Housing. With that first Student Affairs position, I found my purpose and passion- to positively influence individuals and the systems within which these individuals learn, live, and work. I am grateful for the opportunity I have each day to teach skills that enhance an individual's personal and professional abilities and to positively influence the design of organizational systems that support individual and organizational success.
I am an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys mountain biking, running, and attending sporting events with my husband, two sons, and friends. I am also just as passionate about reading a good book, baking sugary sweets, and drinking coffee.
Oregon is an amazing place and I am grateful to have landed here after living and working in the Truckee-Tahoe area for many years. I studied journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno and continue to take classes at OSU as I believe learning is a life-long privilege. When I’m not hanging out with my dog, Ollie, I enjoy baking, road-trips and wine tasting. I am also an avid Beaver Basketball fan.
I serve as the office operations coordinator and in that role I strive to create an atmosphere of care and support for students that are going through the student conduct process and for my talented colleagues. If you are interested in learning about serving on our Student Conduct Committee or have questions about the conduct process, please contact me.
I was born and raised in San Jose, California. I attended California State University, Chico for my undergraduate studies in Sociology and Women’s Studies. I received my Master’s degree from Oregon State University in College Student Services Administration. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, working out, or watching TV (the kind that makes you lose some brain cells)!.
As a first generation college student, I understand the challenges that come with navigating a system that was not designed with my identities in mind. I am here to help all students as they navigate their college education and beyond..
Working with students in the student conduct field gives me a unique opportunity to support students as they navigate academic and non-academic challenges in their lives. I strive to provide students with a procedurally sound experience that considers students’ circumstances and identities. I am here to listen, learn and support.
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and studied at UO (I know!) and OSU. I've lived in Salem, Corvallis, Eugene, and Springfield, and besides the allergies, I love it here in the Willamette Valley! I love to cook, camp, explore Oregon, and work on my McMenamins passport. As fun and active as that sounds, I also make sure to get in plenty of quality Netflix time. I'm also a student in OSU's Postbacc Computer Science program!
Like Gemma, I'm a graduate of the College Student Services Administration Program at OSU, and my time here had a big influence on shaping my own values. So many of the students I've met here at Oregon State are proud to be Beavers, and it shows through their commitment to the OSU community. We're stronger when we support each other, and I aim to ensure OSU offers a safe and supportive learning environment for all students to explore and discover their potential.

Being a first generation Latina college student, I realize how special it was for me to be in the fulfilling higher educational space. I know how proud my family and ancestors were/are of me! I am currently a part of the MAIS program where my 3 curriculums are: College Student Services Admin, Ethnic Studies, and Adults in Higher Education.
My love for family, friends, humanity & students has led me to this wonderful opportunity within the Student Conduct and Community Standards office. My mission is to help students navigate towards success, whether that be by connecting them to campus and community resources or simply listening to their stories.
